Panelist Brenda Norwood recalled her teacher saying, “You’re lucky if you’re gonna get out of here,” on the day she integrated into the senior class at Mansfield High School in 1965. It was the worst day of her life, she said.
Mansfield Independent School District integrated in 1965 with eight seniors, including Norwood, transferring into the high school.
