Dr. Amine, University of North Texas Assistant Professor in the Department of English, specializes in twentieth-century African American and African Diaspora literature with interest in the politics of race and its intersection with transnationalism, gender, sexuality, and global cities.

Amine’s work has appeared in American Literature, College Literature, and Culture, Theory, and Critique among other venues.

She is currently at work on a second book project titled: “The Lure of Return in African Diaspora Fiction,” which examines the overlooked yet ubiquitous motif of repatriation in narratives of exile by James Baldwin, Toni Morrison, William Demby, Edwidge Danticat, and Caryl Phillips.
